Changes to the Windows Computers:

Changes to the Macs:

McAfee VirusScan updated from version 2 to latest version 3.

McAfee VirusScan virus definition file updated to latest revision.

RealPlayer updated from version 4.0 to version 5.0.

Adobe Acrobat Reader updated from version 3.0 to 3.01.

Iomega Zip driver updated to latest version 5.

Latest Iomega Tools installed.

Master hard drive images moved from local hard drives to file server, making
an additional 200 MB of hard drive space available for local use.
New for Fall 1997

New multimedia facility: Multimedia equipment was installed in Weil
270 during the summer and will be available for Fall courses. This installation
is configured similar to the other Multimedia
Lecture Halls supported by the Multimedia Support Program.

New multimedia carts: Two multimedia carts will be available for
ceckout in the Florida Gym
Media Center. One cart will be equipped with a Windows Pentium computer
and an LCD projector. The other will be equipped with an LCD projector
that is compatible with either Macintosh or Windows notebook computers.
New SVGA projectors: Three portable SVGA LCD projectors are
now available for checkout in the OIR
Turlington Media Center.
New for Summer 1997

Windows Upgrade: Windows 95 and Office 97 have been installed on
all Windows computers.

Upgrades on carts: The two 486 computers on the multimedia
carts have been replaced with Pentium computers.

New cart for Norman Hall: A mobile cart with a built-in Power Mac
7600/132, a VHS VCR, a laserdisc player and an LCD panel is now available
for check out from the OIR
Educational Media Center. The computer on the cart is configured the
same as in the Multimedia
Lecture Halls with the addition of Apple Video Player and Strata Video
Workshop. The computer is preconfigured to connect to the College of Education
network. Ethernet ports are available in Norman G520 and 211. The LCD panel
will be replaced with a high-intensity LCD projector in the near future.
